The 1st half of the year is all but over, however, while a post about my 2018 reads so far is yet to come, this post is about my reads from the last week.
WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. The three questions are: What have you recently finished reading? What are you currently reading? What are you planning to read next?
1. Recently finished reading?
One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus. I am so glad to finally have this one ticked off my TBR after more than a year. It was certainly a fun read, although the intentional stereotypes kind of grated on me after a while. Without giving anything away, I must say that both the format and the ending reminded me of one of my favourite crime novels by Agatha Christie, (***POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT***) And Then There Were None.
2. Currently reading?
The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. I am quite enjoying this American classic which I am being (enthusiastically) made to read for English. The narration, protagonist & language is unlike anything I’ve read before which makes for a welcome change.
Save the Date by Morgan Matson. So far this is a sweet, cute story. It’s a little slow but overall enjoyable. I have it as a eArc & I’m almost certain I’m not going to finish it in time… eek 😱.
Autoboyography by Christina Lauren. I’ve been listening to this audtibook for weeks now. It’s pretty cute and I’m sure that I’ll finish it when I get the time.
3. Planning to read next?
More books for English, including To Kill a Mockingbird (Harper Lee), The Heart is a Lonely Hunter (Carson McCullers) and/or Desolation Angels (Jack Kerouac).
I’m always so happy to see To Kill A Mockingbird on someone’s reading list as I absolutely love that book (and the film version almost as much). I really hope you enjoy it. I have Harper Lee’s Go Set A Watchman sitting on my bookshelves and I hope to get around to reading it soon – seen mixed reviews of it.

I’m not sure about how much I’ll like it at the end but 20% in it looks promising. However I wanted to see more romance but it feels more family oriented, which is still quite fun 🙂 And I must admit that you are right on it being slow.

Definitely agree with you on it looking promising in the start. It’ll be interesting to see how much the story picks up (in terms of pace ) later into the book. Happy reading 🙂
